Telephone Scam

Microsoft does not make unsolicited phone calls to help you fix your computer. In this scam cybercriminals call you and claim to be from Microsoft Technical support. They use tatics like your computer is running slow or you have an illegal copy of windows and it's going to expire.

Microsoft will never call you, or anyone else. Do not follow their instructions or believe what they are saying. Another tactic is the tehnician calling will say you have slow broadband, They may also suggest they can give you free antivirus.

Windows and Java asking me to update

It is always recommended to perform Microsoft Windows updates, Adobe and Sun Java, these updates are often secuirty patches.
